Re:Iron Butt today! 2 Months ago
Ok I am in Haggerstown, MD at a Waffle House at exit 29 (65S) off of I 70.
I came a sorta weird way, I went by my GF's house to get the Throttle Rockers off her bike and a Kiss. We took a picture but her kid did not know how to snap my camera. So no pictures.
I started @ 16:22 with even 7500 miles. I went Back roads to 11S and 14 E to PA 51 the PA 60 S to 22E and I79 S to MOrgantown, WV and picked up I68 (Veterans Memorial Highway!)and boogied on over to I70 where I am now. Gas so Far is 3.25 Start, 2nd 3.46 and 3rd 3.37.

Ahhhh This Royal Star runs real good but It isn't my bike.
I miss the Crash Bars and Pegs, My Ultimate Seats, MY GPS, My Heated Gloves, (Well not yet but I will) My Power options, My Aux Lights, And mostly my Backrest! I made an impromptu one but it ain't so hot.
But, it's a road worthy Bike, it just don't handle like a Roadie at all. Curves are scary, Like riding a Hardley.

But most scary part is all the dead Deer, From old kill, blood all over and then !! Where's the body!! to Fresh kill wet blood and a body. I been using other peoples lights about 8 to 10 seconds ahead to discover most of this. Sometimes though I have to pave my own way and that's nerve racking.

Little rain, slightly cool.

Onward 70 East to 270S to 95S thru DC and then on to Richmond and over to Va Beach. No one must live there, I got no PM's, So I'll find some one to be my witness.

Someone asked about sleep, I was up at 5am, dealing with Yamaha all day and Then I left having been up 12 hours already. Curt knows I sent him PMs through the day as he is helping me with the Intake problem and he's going to send me a Curt Special! Whooooooooooo!

Ok back on the road, I'm ready for some city driving where less deer on the road and more lights.

Re:Iron Butt today! 2 Months ago
Yea I need a tail wind, minutes are counting.
I'm at a Flying J in Va, MP 104 whatever town. OH waitress says Carmel Church. Anyways I stopped at Quantico, ooorraahhhh! And took some pictures there, I'd upload em but Camera is in bike. Wasted too much time taking them anyways.

VA Beach will be more than half way according to my Odometer. I have about 440 miles now. So I might have to verify at 1100 miles. Then try to coast in before 16:22 and verify again. (Just in case something goes wrong, because I'll be at like over 1300 By time I get to VFW in Warren for the Marine B Day Bash.

I been up 20.50 Hours now, Little tired but I cant sleep so press on.

Now I am missing my Pouch on the dash. A Tank bag might be nice. The lighting without AUX lights is ok, but I'd rather have Aux lights.

Right at the Quantico ramp where I got gas, MP 147 someone hit a deer seconds before I got there. That tuned me up a bit. Lots of skunks out also.

Well, Suck down some Java here and get going. I WILL post a pic of me at the Turn around point.

Re:Iron Butt today! 2 Months ago
Hi everyone!

I'm new to RSC. I know this is not the spot to intoduce myself, but I started a profile so I could post a picture in response to MS1700's post on the Iron Butt ride. I am schatzie, which means "sweetheart", in German. I am the girlfriend that MS1700 speaks of occasionally.

He said he didn't have a start picture for his ride because my kid didn't know how to use his camera, but she did get a picture with mine, so I'm trying to post one here for you all to see what the bike looked like that he has on loan from the dealer while his is in the shop. I hope this woks, if not, then I'm sure MC will have pics of his journey to post when he gets back.

Here goes...

Hi Schatzie, good startin' pic.... Good luck MS1700 Great cause! Not only deer but watch out for those racoons at nite across Maryland and Pa. When ones walking across the road, the rest of the family aint to far away. Oh ...and the roosting turkeys near the road that fly out at daylight.. I have some feathers in the Freightliner grill to prove it.
