Valve Stems 2 Months ago
Does anyone know if there is an adapter for valve stems? I would like to have a curved valve stem for the front tube, so I can get to it with an air hose. I don't want to replace my tube until I need a new tire.

I have two tubes with 90 degree stems at my shop. I know that they are good for the rear 150 tire, I don't know if they are good for the 130 or not. I'll have to check.

Check at your local auto parts store. I found some 90 degree extensions there.

I bet you will find that as you try to screw the extension on, it will hit the spokes...

Re:Valve Stems 2 Months ago
I figure the only way I can get a stem I can put air in correctly is to get 90 degrees when i replace my tires. I can't believe that Yamaha hasn't figured out you can't get most air chucks in between the spokes. I have to tilt the stem to get the chuck on and I just know I'm going to snap one off or make it leak some day just before I go riding.
I don't know about anyone else but my tires consistently leak down (I have cast spokes). I'm going to slime the new pair after I get them put on in spring.

You shouldn't be losing air that much. Have you checked to see it the valve stem cores are tight? IMO you should go with Ride on instead of slime if you want to run something in the tires all the time.

Funny you should mentioned that Musky. I just bought Ride-On this past week. Will be putting it in within a few weeks once I can set aside some time. Good stuff.

Re:Valve Stems 2 Months ago
I haven't had to put air in my tires since I started running Ride on. Not saying it will be the same with everyone. Just how it worked out for me. But mainly I run it because it's saved me from having flats before on other bikes. I don't like flats. They can be a nuisance when you're rolling along along at 70.

I've been wanting to put 90-degree extensions on mine since the first pressure check. Does anyone know what size would fit the stock stems...or are they universal?
