After I got rid of the fuel pump I installed the Pingle tank valve and a Pingle fuel filter as well; 1- for the flow, 2-for the looks, ran a short copper fuel line as well. Works and looks great. A bigger fuel valve isn't going to worsen your fuel milage it's only going to flow as much as your carb. demands. Don't forget to vent your fuelcap.

Can I just disconnect the fuel vent line?

I would disconnect the roll over valve because they seem to go bad often.Put a piece of foam over the end of the tube (foam off a paint brush works well) with twist tie wire to keep it in place. As for the gas cap mod I would wait till I had a problem before doing that if it were me .I went pumpless and did all the above without test riding.I wish I had waited till I absolutely needed to do the gas cap maybe its just me.When I get time I will probably put the cap back to stock to see what if anything happens....Coug

Cougar,
The pick-up tube in the Pingle seemed considerably bigger, but was hard to tell it was covered with a stainless steel screen/mesh. Install was easy w/ good instructions however you have to get a rattail file and file the hole in the tank bigger to accept the bigger tube and ss screen/mesh cover. Looked great once finished; only thing I wish it had (for the $$ I spent) is more of a detent at each setting, res. is in the middle and the valve moves real easy.

Yes. Its not my idea something I picked up from others as it seems those tubes do get clogged (moisture and dust)and if it does you can very carefully drill it out if need be after emptying the tank....Coug
