Well living in western Mass. and now that is is very close to winter the R* had to get put up. I did all the preps sefoam in the fuel and marvel in the oil one last ride baout 22 miles at 20 degrees to the place I store it, pulled the battery and seat. went home and hung up the leathers and helmet.

Winter Sucks!

....ok I feel better now...little bit

I feel your pain...I am in northern Indiana, and it is simply too nasty to ride. However,I have not yet put mine up for the winter, but only because I am having the tranny recall work done in the very near future. And, I hope, upon hope, that I will get another decent ride in before calling it quits and pulling the battery.

for the last four years in a row, it has been dry and above freezing on new years day, and I have gotten in a ride to start the year out right...It all depends on the weather man.

Craziness, out for a three hour ride in 72 degree temperatures Saturday...

...today it's 28 degrees and 5 or 6 inches of snow...

...and road salt, to boot.

With all the chrome on the bike, I'm afraid riding is over til, Late April or May now.

Pulled battery yesterday. Felt like I pulled the plug on a dear friend (OK, that's a stretch but...).

yah feels like winter here in MI, but hunting has kept me from think of the bike sitting in the garage.. usually don't actually put her down for the season take her out for a ride on the weekends just to keep from dieing... but the 85 mile round trip for work is out till the weather changes back, not going to get stuck in the snow...
might even put a cover on her this year, but usually like to go out and wipe down the chrome and check everything while it sits... got those unfinished projects to do, 4 way flashers, switches for the passing lights up on the bars.. just the basic winter time projects...

24F this morning, in Middle Tennessee. Tomorrow's supposed to be colder, and Friday, even moreso. I'm going to ride until I just can't stand it anymore. That said, it's uncommonly cold for this time of year, here. WTF happened to Global Warming? The past two winters, we've been an average of 10F colder than normal!

Frank, You can see where that COLD BLUE arrow is coming from? It's warmed up a bit before you feel it, trust me... Brrrrrrr. I put on all my cold weather stuff this morning, had all the intentions of riding the bike to work, walked outside (let the wife out of the trunk) saw the dogs dish frozen (gave him fresh water) and figured, it's not that far, I'll take the truck!

Well, I guess I'm just hardcore, then. Yesterday morning, I took a screwdriver with me out to Bear's enclosure and hammered the ice off of his water bucket, and then went back to the garage, donned my gear, and off I went!

It's supposed to be 23F tomorrow morning, but "Real Feel" says it's going to feel like it's 13F. Screw it. I'm still going to ride to work! (I may be snapping the liners into my chaps this evening, though...)

Warmed up just a bit yesterday, so I put the battery back in.... turned the gas on and fired her up There is still too much ice on the road around the storage unit to ride, but it sure felt good to hear her purr again! Come on March....
