saddlebag choices 1 Month, 2 Weeks ago
I really prefer my bikes (and chicks) naked, but as a daily commuter I'm contemplating yet another set of saddlebags. Alot of you have Silverado's but plenty of others seem to have aftermarket bags too. If you have saddlebags on why did you choose the one's you did, and how are they working out. I'm looking at the Yamaha Tour and hard color matched bags because I prefer the hardmounts to throw-overs. Thanks for the feedback gents.

Lots of choices for saddlebags. Not just yami choices. Lots of aftermarket bags, both leather and hard for the R*.

For hard bags, look for Tsukayu's website, Corbin (if you got the cash ). Some folks have got HD bags on or Venture bags on.

Leather/vinyl (not throw overs): Try Chilhowee Leather or Leatherlyke.

These are not your only choices.

If I had to choose, I'd go with Leatherlykes. Lockable, rigid and have a matching trunk for cheap. I will eventually replace my bags. Good thing also about these as opposed to hard bags is I don't have to get them painted.

I liked the Rakaposhi leather covered hard bags ... and they're reasonably priced, too.

Thanks you guys. I just got done searching ebay. I saw some of the bags you mentioned. I'm not a big e-bayer since getting burned once big time. There is a dealer in Texas that advertises OEM stuff for 20% off. Maybe a Yamaha vender will pop up here. Checked out the leatherlykes too. I still really like the OEM leather tour or ABS hard bags but MAN, are they expensive. I'll keep looking. PM for sale items welcome. Just ride it.

This is a hard one if you can't get to see different bags on the bike. I have the Yammi Tour Deluxe (i think that's what they are called) leather bags. the bags mount nice but they do no have quick realese buckles. so i hate getting into them. I think I am going to buy a set of HD's on ebay. they look like they should fit nice w/ a molded in bracket. I am looking at the ones for a softail deluxe. they lock and the lids tip out. just an idea for you.
