The visor's were sitting at the door when I got back today. I have an extra one. The product is a very light plastic with a heavy chrome finish. Now for the install. Woot!!!

Mine arrived yesterday so as soon as I get the new igniter in my kerosene heater out there its on with the visor and off with the AIS. I figure it should give me a good evening. I like the visor with some reservations that might be cleared up once its on the bike. The actual visor part is shorter and less curved than i had hoped but i think it will look ok. I was also hoping for more of a flat surface on the bottom side of it so it would be easier to mount. Now I will have to build that area out with two sided tape to get it right. Plus side to this though is that if it was totally flat then you wouldnt be able to get it on the bike flat. This way I should be able to get it on with little or no gap. I will keep you guys informed. Nick

Update, notice that when you stick this on the bike there is a slight gap at the bottom next to the buttons, very very slight. Also I got to thinking, if you ever get stuck in the rain this thing will be a soup bowl. So I figured somethin out. That gap will actually help you. However you mount it on the speedo, make sure you dont tape the center of the main bottom, or tack it or whatever. That way if it rains the water can escape out the bottom without ponding up on your speedo. Still have to put it on though lol but just thinking out loud.

So I have been running this visor for a few weeks now and I have to say that riding at night is a heck of alot more enjoyable as I don't have the glare, on the back of the windshield, I used to from the speedo. The only time I really notice the speedo now is when I have the brights on at night, I'll see the blue light from that.

I did the install with the Handi Tac stuff (found it at Michael's) It took a couple of tries to get the right amount but it's the easiest stuff to work with and I can just grab and remove the visor and then just as easily replace it with just a light press back into position if I need to.

For a $12 to $15 item it looks great and does the job. Thanks again for heads up MS1700

yea mine is still ticking along solid as all get out down to 21 degrees. AH ha! though, at Office Max I saw the handi Tack in a pale white color. I think i might change to that where it might be seen.

Hey MS1700 - Thanks for a great tip. I put my visor on a little over a month ago and love it. For those of you out there thinking about doing this mod, don't hesitate; it's cheap and simple. Unlike most of the others, I went with the headlight bezel that has the screw holes in it because I thought it had more of a custom look, and besides... it was the only style available at the truck stop I went to Before you all start cringing, don't worry; I had no intent of screwing this thing into the top of my tank. I figured I could scrounge up a few short chrome head screws from the workshop or grind down the tips on the ones that were included in the packaging and glue them in place as "dummies", then proceed to Handi Tak the visor per MS1700's instructions. As it turned out, the screws provided were shorter than the depth of the visor. I anchored each of them in place with a dab of Mighty Putty on the underside, let it cure overnight and then packed 1" segments of Handi Tak into the channel on the underside at the 8:00, 11:00, 1:00 and 4:00 positions before sticking it on. I put about 200 miles on the bike that day and it hasn't budged since.

Your welcome, I always like a inexpensive idea, only thing better is to post one and let others refine it. I just love mine, The dealer wants me to keep it on the hush though because he has plenty of the real McCoy's on hand. I only posted it here, so he has no reason to worry eh?

Ya know I did see a few with screw holes I like better but i wasn't willing to deal with the holes. Maybe I should take a 2nd look, be cool to make people think I screwed into my tank! Sorta like the fake bullet holes you see, double effect! Now that's cool! MC
