When I tried removing the fuel line from the petcock valve tonight, instead of the line coming off the tube, the tube came out of the petcock! It didn't look like it had been soldered or glued in. Is that normal? Or am I just superman with super human strength?  Should I glue it in? |

It happens. Just tap it back in. Don't hit it hard. Just tap it in.

Mine does the same thing... line won't come off, the brass tube pulls out. I did just as Musky advised... just lightly tapped it back in... didn't leak!

Me too! Be careful not to pull it out with pliers. You may distort and damage the tube.  |

same happened to me and when I looked closely it appeared that it is either press fitted or real lightly glued in. when it happened to me, I was investigating a leaky petcock. I mixed some jbweld together and lightly coated the outside of the tube and then gently pressed it back in and then made sure the outside seam where the brass meets the aluminum was coated as well. Been great ever since. From my experience, if you don't seal it then a slow ongoing leak is likely.

Mmmmmm, a light coat of JB Weld on the tube. I like that idea! I'm going to do that next time it comes out.

should prob also add that I was REAL careful not to get any inside the tube (you could clean it with a q-tip I guess after reinserting it) and then I let it sit 24 hours before I put gas back through it.

I've got a nice piece of braided fuel line attached to that piece and its on TIGHT! After I glue the tube in I will have to really be careful getting the line off in the future. Or leave it connected and disconnect it on the fuel filter.
