New affordable modular helmet with inner visor 1 Month, 1 Week ago
If you wear glasses when you ride you this might be of interest. The internal sunshade is available at the flick of a finger for when the sun is out. Plus it's modular so on bike conversation isn't a yelling match.

Yeah, I know it's not as "cool" as no helmet at all, but for those of us who choose to wear a full coverage helmet ones like this seem to be a good option. And the price is right on this at $110.00 (plus 15% off for the holidays). Here's the link to the site.

That does look pretty cool.
Could be a good choice for a winter helmet for me.

Must be REALLY new because they aren't anywhere on eBay yet... I have an HJC modular and love it--very convenient.

Yeah, they've got some modulars as low as $49.95, which scares me a little. Have been looking at getting a new modular, but in a couple of months of looking, I haven't found a review of the Hawk. Still shopping.

They have had some extraordinary deals on eBay Motors for the Nolan N-102 helmets. Even though folks are getting them at about half price, the bids always go a bit over my budget at the moment.

I have a VOX and really like it. I use it during cooler/wet weather and have no complaints. I bought it for around $150 from a discount dealer online about a year ago. I looked them up online and found they are going as low as $99 on eBay. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/VOX-MODULAR-FLIP-UP-MOTORCYCLE-BIKE-SNOWMOBILE-HELMET_W0QQitemZ110316220732QQcmdZViewItem

Looks a lot like my HJC for about $50 or $60 less. Never heard of HAWK, is it DOT?

This HAWK helmet is DOT. And in the "for what it's worth" department....

I was told by two different MSF instructors that if a helmet is DOT the level of protection is the same regardless of the price tag. Cost does not determine the level of protection. The main reason there are $500 DOT helmets and $40 DOT helmets are a: weight, lighter being more costly, b: Features (grapics, buckles, vents, visor material, etc.) c: HYPE.

Again, take it for what it's worth. I'm not trying to turn this thread into a helmet debate

Hey Roadkill1962, Is your HJC really loud? The wind is bad in mine and my Stage 2 exhaust resonates in mine pretty bad too... Is it similar with other full face or modulars? I'm in the market for something different! The inner visor looks like a great idea on this one.

I also have the HJC modular, I love mine, but I did have to get it one size smaller. I also use Bose Noice canceling earbuds with my MP3 player, I think those make the biggest differance.
