Not quite correct.

You need more pixels when you are making a photo bigger or cropping a photo and trying maintaining the same size (equivalent to blowing it up).

I can take a pic with my 8 and 2 meg cameras, post the reduced pics and you would never know. For the sig pics, most of the pixels are thrown away when you reduce the original pic, so as long as the original pic is within 'limits' you don't need a 'big' camera.

so how do you tell what someones sig size is, formula? bytes vs ?

1kb isn't 1KB they are different sizes. its technical and just try to make your sig pic under 45k and you're good

The difference in megapixels and image size is the same as 1080p/720p televisions. Why can't you find a 1080p tv under 46"? You can't notice the pixel difference because the screen is smaller and the pixels are pushed together closer.

I believe a tradition k is 1024 bytes. but I agree with the poster above. Make it 45K and you should be ok.
