Again, if you want to clean things up you can get Yami engine paint, scrape or rub the defects smooth and re-paint. It does not seem to be as bad or obvious on the Black Midnights, but the silver engines it is quite obvious. These are casting imperfections and not the power coating. It is a shame that Yamaha does not clean up the cases before powder coating. I try not to let it bother me, and if I ever tear the engine down it is going to get smoothed out and black powder coated. I think my pearl white 06 would look awesome with a black engine and bright diamond cut fin edges.
