It's more important to look at the completed auctions as dealers use that as a sort of bait and switch. I hear, and that's a big I hear from when i was trying to get one on e bay, that you will seldom find anyone that really bought one on e bay 'New' and ride it. Rumor is phantom bidders win and you think well, that dealer is where I am going to go buy, I can get a real deal there too! I almost had one from Andrews Cycle in Columbiana Ohio and a few weeks later they were on the news for all kinds of fraud charges of bait and switch and charging for accessories factory installed or charging and not installing. You can probably find that info in a google. I would think about 10K would be bottom dollar for a new 07.
Caveat Emptor certainly applies. Two of the bikes are from Heinen's in MN, and I have heard some good things about them, not sure about the other dealer. It looks like these sales are listed as both auctions and Buy It Now sales, so if you want to lock in, use BIN.
In my experience, I bought my 07 Midnight Silverado in May this year for $9k out the door from a dealer in Ohio. Financed thru Yamaha via dealer over the phone, then drove 300 miles to pick up bike. Signed some paperwork and rode it home (in the rain.) Not all deals are fiction. What I would suggest is call the dealer, since they probably have the bike for sale locally and elsewhere, so they could end an auction at any time. See what the bottom line is, seek financing (currently 7.99% for up to 72 mo thru
Yami) if you wish and make deals for upgrades, etc. Keep in mind if buying out-of-state that you may not pay tax in the sale/financing, but you WILL pay in your state once you try to get tags. In Illinois, tax has to be paid with application for title/tags within 30 days of bringing the vehicle into the state. Your situation may differ.
Anyway, I've got about 5k miles on mine now, and am liking it (not the 4-degree weather here, though.)
