Bruzer..I did mine with great results. The easiest way is to remove the cover then carve the underside not the topside. that way the seat says smooth on top.
When dieciding were to carve just picture how the foam collapses when you sit on it..I used an electric knife ( a trick I leaned as an custom upholsterer)
Whole thing was under an hour and lowered me 1.5 in...and looks factory.

Well we started off with a outline of my butt in reference to seat placement, as pointed out I tend so sit way back in the seat so we started there as far as cutting foam goes here is a picture.

Here is a pic after some contouring sorry didn't think of it before cutting. added some build up to the outside edges to help with the shape and fit of my Butt, man did we cut foam. who knew there was so much in there. Im sure it has nothing to do with my fat a$$

Bruzer, did you add or reduce the foam in a particular area? Or is it better to start all over with new foam? Memory foam, gel pad insert, etc.? Gonna be doing mine very shortly.

Re:Re-contouring my seat 3 Years, 4 Months ago
I found that reducing the seat in whole worked as a starting point. Cutting like was mentioned should be done with a electric knife (the only way to go) I choose to cut from the topside as the bottom is been formed to the pan, just take your time, smooth cuts, I then cut out extra to allow for a gel-like pad that I am adding in for comfort. I also added to ridges one on each side of the seat in the hip area for shaping and comfort (you can see them in a previous pic) I also continued to sit it checking comfort and pressure points. I will add pics and comments as I go.
