I don't think it's just bikers cagers don't see. People are usually too pre-occupied when they are driving, cell phones, make-up, eating, reaching for cd's, in a hurry for some not very important meeting etc. Hey! If they can't see a big, white, Wonder Bread truck, they won't see us!

I have actually learned that a nice big smile and wave really makes them more angry then the old flip the bird routine.
Many times the quick thought of using my get back whip flashes through my brain, but I just smile and wave.

Top,
I do exactly the same thing! I can feeling anger welling up in me, but my first instinct has become the big smile and wave... and, like you, in my wicked old heart, I perversely delight in the thought that I've probably ticked 'em off more... (and feel good about that )

I guess I've been lucky so far.....or maybe I run across enough du-`masses in my car that it doesn't bother me as much. I'm probably more in line with BB and Musky.
Here in the D.C. area traffic has three speeds stop, slow and hold on. I've given up getting upset because someone pulls in front of me or doesn't see me and starts to pull over into my lane (in the jeep and on the bike)I am just thankful that I see it coming and am able to get out of the way be I be in my Jeep or on the R*. I probably have more patience on the bike than in the car however, its not worth the stress nor getting shot. These days Virginia has a carry clause and D.C. has one of the highest homicide rates in the country.....I just smile and thanks to the Lord above for not saying "Outta the Pool".
Ride safe

I think you like to go off on these long rants and call people names on things that happen to riders all the time. Just ain't that big of a deal and not worth getting all worked up over. I don't let people that mean nothing to me ruin my ride.
No, I don't like to go off on long rants, but I will freely admit that the self centered attitude of some people does make me mad. I showed courtesy to someone in a cage by letting them come over in front of me, and I caught heck from the self centered person behind me for it. Yes, I get upset by people that have no regard for others. I agree that is wasted emotion because it will always be. Do I need to learn to except these selfish people? I will never except the rude and disrespectful actions of people, but I do need to except that I must overcome it.

It isn't worth the stress. Had a heart attack and learned the hard way to let it go.

When I first got my R* and someone did something "stupid" I would get upset and want to respond in some manner. What I found was that when I got mad my concentration on other things around me went down which put me and my passenger in danger. Bottom line, people will do things that we are going to find rude and it will anger us. The safest thing to do is get out of harms way and move on and enjoy the ride. Hope this helps.

Agreed!!! We will always loose the battle with a car no matter how right we may be.
