A local buddy bought me my bell whem I bought my R* a couple years ago. I really took it to heart, but didn't realize he didn't have one himself. About a year ago he was on his way home from Las Vegas, between Wikiup and Kingman, AZ at dusk, and a cager was making a stupid pass coming towards him over the crest of a hill, on a stretch of 2-lane highway. My buddy (on his Vulcan) went off the right shoulder, tried to surf it out by laying it down on the left side, and everything went to hell from there. His wife called me when the helicopter took off from the scene, and I met him at the hospital where he was air-evac'd, with his bell in my pocket. He survived, and is back on his new bike. He kept that bell hung on the traction bar in the hospital, and now it's on his bike in a place of honor.

PS - the cager never stopped, and witnesses were unable to get the plate number off the car.

Keep the rubber on the road,

Thank God your Bro is still among us , as for the cager don't worry that MF will get his if not today . . . someday , remember life never gives anything away , it is always credit . . . so you have to pay sooner or later

"Legged has it that Evil Road Spirits have been latching themselves on to motorcycles for as long as ther have been bikes on the road. These Evil Road Spirits are resposible for mechanical problems and bad luck along a journey.
Legend goes on to say that by attaching a small bell onto your bike, the Evil Road Spirits will become trapped inside the bell where the constant ringing drives them insane, making them lose their grip, falling to the ground. (ever wondered where pot holes come from?)
Legend also has it that the mystery of the Gaurdian Bell carries twice as much power when it is purchased by a friend or loved one and given as a gift."

This is quoted from the paper that came with my bell, recieved with many thanks from my partner.

I lost my first bell, and went on to purchase another. I have since recovered the first bell, bent and scratched up. Now I have two. I should be real lucky right?

Hey Guys (and Girls) -

I'd never heard about this, and now that I have, I've ordered three for my riding buddies - my bro-in-law (and best friend - even though he rides a V* 1300...), my cousin (R* all the way!) and my son's godfather (Raider). I, on the other hand, am completely bell-less. If anyone wants to send one on up to MN, I'd be eternally grateful!

Thanks!

- T

p.s. I'll attach more pics later of the bike in its current state - doesn't really look like this anymore...

'GO PACK GO'

Here's a photo of Emu (Cheese Head) proudly wearing supporters gear of the Green Bay Packers, compliments of a great guy...Darn Oldie.

The cheese head, noodle and badge generated a fair amount of interest at our ride muster this morning. The group in photo are part of our Mackay Branch of the Ulysses Club. We went for a ride to Cape Hillsbrough this morning and although a bit warm the sky was clear and we had a great day.

When we were taking this photo, a tourist (from US) came over and said that he was sitting in a game in Green Bay last year wearing the same regalia...our group were suitably impressed.

Thanks again Darn Oldie...from a new Packers supporter from across the Pacific.
