Well, guess I really don't need a side car anyway and the Royal Enfield is about half the price.

Somebody said the URAL motrcylcles require "a lot of attention." Good to know as I was considering one. I hate high-maintenance stuff.
They can't possibly be as bad as a LADA Signet... can they?

StarMyram, the way it was told to me by the dealer was that if it was used alot (I ride about 15,000 yearly), that it was not the bike for me. Now ,I knew already that I would not have a Ural as my main scoot, but I thought it was interesting that he said such, and he added that they are still a ride alittle ,work alittle kind of bike. This translates to ride alot, work alot, so............

Nope, English but it didn't sound good. What I read sounds familar. One guy was telling about all the bolts and nuts that fall of and another guy was talking about how his leaks oil and he can't stop it. Ring a bell?

Just kidding! Not brand bashing.

Oh my,
I was hoping the URAL'S were bulletproof, but maybe they sometimes aren't. LADA's and BELARUS tractors haven't earned my faith in them very well as they always have something falling off them too. I like the good old American and Japanese stuff when I need reliability.

if you want the best out of a ural, junk the motor, fit a bmw r100 lump in the chassis.

just remember to fit a bmw shaft to the ural box as the ural runs in the opposite direction to the beemer and you end up with 4 reverse gears.
