I built a home, not an investment. Any short term drop in value means nothing to me because I don't plan on going anywhere. I continue to put as much in the market as I can, I believe there are tremendous values out there right now and for those that stay the course and do not bail, the returns will be huge 5 - 10 down the road. I honestly believe that. IF you sell now, you will never get the chance to recover what you have lost. I do wish I had some money to throw at Ford right now....looks like they are the best bet in Detroit whether you like them or not. I hadn't put anything into the market for the last 5 years or so. Hadn't taken anything out either. I just started dumping everything I can afford into it on January 1st. I think there is some good money to be made in the next 5 years. Up, Up, and away! But my heart goes out to those of you sitting on the edge of a job, trying to stretch your dollar, not knowing what tommorrow brings. But I pay my mortgages every month and can still put 4 gallons in the Roadie to go ride. Now Obamanation wants to make me pay for others??? Liquidity--it's my bank account every month and what is ever left over--maybe I'll eat some Ramen Noodles and a hot dog!!!!!!!! And when my stock in a gold mining company went from $17 to $3--I bought more--it's comming back up--much more slowly than it dropped.
