Dealer Victims of the Economy 2 Years, 11 Months ago

Two very big dealerships in the northern Illinois area have become the latest victims of the economy. I went up to Wildside Yamaha in South Elgin today and when I arrived, the place was locked up tight, shelves were bare, all inventory was gone and the lights were off!

I had heard a rumor a few weeks ago that Yamaha had pulled back much of their floor credit to the dealers but I didn't think much of it until today.
When I got back home, I called the phone number for Pro Source Yamaha out of Morris, (Yup, the same one that was ranked third in the nation for internet and catalog sales) and sure enough, the number is 'no longer in service'

Yikes! These were both my 'Go to guys' when it came to parts and accessories.

Has anyone else noticed this with the dealers in their areas?
