Shocked...... Then just plain ticked off 3 Years, 2 Months ago
Well I went for a ride today to our "local", 60 miles away, Hooters. To bad we went there first, should have been last. We go to Hooters and grab a bite to eat and then head over to a motorycle shop, Extreme Powersports. Lunch of course was great. We get to the bike shop, and my buddy starts giving me a hard time about riding my "old man" motorcycle and that I should trade in for the Raider. We are standing outside of the store and next thing I know the salesman says, "Someone just hit your bike". I assumed he was talking to my buddy until I look up. I look up and see a guy putting his f-150 into drive. I realize that it was my bike. The salesman says he turned your bike around sideways a little. I look and the bike is still standing with no visible damage from a distance. First thing I say is "Oh no... my baby". I take off to check on her and make sure the kickstand is not about to slide out from under it and cause any more damage. I assumed that as I was headed to the bike my buddy was going to stop the guy. No. As I turn around to go confront the guy he takes off. I was more concerned about the bike at first which is why I went there first instead of the guy. I learned not to do that next time. Well my buddy and I and a couple of other guys checked the bike over and noticed no damage. Then I wasn't as mad since there was no damage. I was headed home and made another stop and noticed that The tail light lens was scuffed and the rear turn signal bracket was also scuffed. I can't believe someone would hit a bike with the owner standing there and just drive off. Also, there were about 10 other people standing out there that never bothered to stop the guy. I did learn one thing. That next time I will stop the guy first. I was just worried about the kickstand sliding out from under it causing more damage. Hope noone else runs into anyone like that guy.

No. Noone got a license plate number. I am not gonna claim it on insurance. It really is not that noticable. But it is driving me crazy b/c I know it is there. I figured I can find those two things on ebay, hopefully, for less than my deductable.

Jeez... WTF? It seems like there have been a lot of hit and runs, lately. What the hell is up with that?? Why was the guy at the dealership? Does he have a bike being worked on? The dealer should keep an eye out for him.

Two possibilities as I see it, 1..the driver didn't see your bike, (not unusual as we all know) and hit it without knowing it. or 2...he knew he hit it and didn't give a damn...I would hope it was the first...

If its not that noticeable the just let it go. My bike looks great till you start really putting it under a magnifier, then you will see some little scratches here and there, mines for riding and things happen when you are on it all the time.
Be grateful that nothing bad happened and your not hurt, trust me on this one

It is to bad you didn't get the guy though, could have been worse!

Yeah, Mine also has a few other things when you really get down to it such as imperfections with the kuryakyn chrome and a few tini tiny scratches. There is no way the guy did not see the bike. There were two motorcycles on the left and one on the right. Just happened mine was the one that he made contact with. After he hit it, he turned around to the left and looked at it (but never got out), looked around to see who was there and then he split. But Ya'll are right, it definitely could have been a lot worse.

It still sucks ass. If I put scratches on my bike, (and I've put a few on it), it's MY bike. If someone else puts scratches on my bike, then they are going to pay dearly.
