Slezy - I have one word for ya - triathlon! I started doing those a few months after I quit smoking, and the weight just dropped off. Not to mention that it's a TON of fun to Swim-Bike-Run with a bunch of your best friends! I seem to be the only one to show up to race day on a noisy-piped, sweet lookin' R*, though. Maybe you can change that, huh?

Been on Chantix for a week. Cigs taste like crap, craves are waning... I have two and a half packs left, so at some point this weekend, I'm quitting permanently.

That's what I did...But I actually cheated and took the Chantix and smoked for two weeks, then quit. Two weeks of Chantix afterward and I was done. Not a tough guy, it's just I had no more insurance, and that stuff is expensive. Stick with the full program course and you'll be aces.

Today is day 90 for me without a cig. I still want one, the cravings suck but are getting shorter and less frequent...but I don't stink anymore. Well, not like cigs, anyway.

As that annoying bastard healthmeister Tony Little would say--"You can dooooo iiiitt!!"

Right on. You should see the amount of taxes and price increase that the government and tobacco companies have levied on cigarettes. It's sick... That was the last straw for me.

The Chantix, even paying full cost for it, is cheaper than the smokes.

My mom said two cartons cost her $111, and Virginia's a tobacco state! Good thing is she only smokes maybe 3 a day so these will last a long time. She's 80 and not going to quit.

Yeah... Tennessee's a tobacco state, too. With what I get for pocket-money each month, I can't afford to smoke anymore, and I don't want to spend that kind of money, just to literally light it on fire and screw up my health in the process. Enough is enough. When I started, 22 years ago, it was rebellious. Cool. Adult. Tough.

It occurs to me now, that it's just stupid and suicidal.

I think we had the cheapest tax on tobacco in the country until recently, if I recall correctly I think our Governor just put a $1 a pack tax on em.

I've been trying to quit on and off for the past year, and it's tough! ...I woke up in the middle of the night last night hacking and of course the wife goes on her rave about quitting again,,,,I'm tired of the morning cig breath, and everything else,,,Long story short, Frank i'm in with you, I haven't had a cig in almost 24 hours!!! Doing it the "sicboy method" I called in sick to work this morning and have laid around the house and tried to sleep all day, but i'm sure I'll be wired tonight,,,,The wife is talking about getting me some chantix,,,I'm going to do it this time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
