You could be a poet Frank!
I've had a great smoke free day today as well, as of 9:00pm tonight I will have lived the past 144 hours smoke free! It seems that it's getting better every day. There are still a few times during the work day that the cravings hit me but they don't last that long...I stoped by a convience store today to pick up something to munch on and a couple of guys come in behind me at the checkout to buy cigs, they were complaining about the price jump and I just smiled, I showed them my bag and said look all this is cheeper than one pack of smokes,,I had 2 bottles of water, 2 packs of peanuts, a pack of sunflower seeds, and a candybar!!! One of the guys says "you probably never smoked before, you don't know how hard it is to quit" I just smiled and told him 12+ years and working on my 6th day being smoke free! It made me feel good to be able to tell someone that you can do it. That's what I have heard from everyone over the past couple of years, now I know I can say that to someone who hopefully will listen one day.

I rode my bicycle over 64 miles today, and I didn't smoke. Figured it wouldn't help
Actually haven't smoked since the mid 1990's and I congratulate everyone on this thread who's giving it up! Simply put, IT WILL MAKE YOUR LIFE BETTER!
Keep up the good work everyone!

Out-freakin-standing!! Keep it up!!
I went, this evening, to Walgreen's, to pick up a scented candle. Yeah yeah... I know... But my sense of smell is finally awakening again, and the candle helps to get the smoky smell out of my study, which is the only place indoors, that I ever smoked.
Anyway, the thought crossed my mind briefly, that Walgreen's sells cigarettes. Just as quickly, I was able to shrug it off. It still pissed me off, though.
A place where they sell medicines and things to help people feel better and improve their health, and yet, they peddle the most lethal, most addictive, legal poison known to mankind.

Chantix is one of those FDA approved drugs which can be used to get over smoking habit. It works on body by giving you the same feel good effect like smoking and hence reduces the craving for nicotine. You can have all the information on chantix here http://www.chantixhome.com/ This medicine should only be used in accordance with the instructions of a physician as there are various side effects which may vary from person to person and it includes change of taste, sleeplessness and many more. I have smoked for more than 10 yrs, but now I am spending a smoke free life from last 2 months. Thanks to chantix. Along with having this medicine, you should also have will power and feeling that you want to get over this habit.

Hi Everyone,
I never smoked until about a year ago, and then only when out at the clubs. I had an accident and they told me if I smoked the skin would take longer to heal. That scared me because recently I had been smoking more during the day when not out. After work, after dinner, etc.
I don't have years of smoking under my belt, but I know the first time I'm out, I'll want one.
Congratulations to everyone that is trying and keep up the good work. I've heard of so many tricks, but, like anything in life we try to do, you have to find what works for you. Chew gum, snap a gumband, get hard candy, the patches, gum, how about this one kiss your significant other every time, it may even help your relationships!
Good luck everyone!
