Thanks RK. I've heard good things about the big HK's. The reason I bought the Cobra pipes were price, but I also liked the way they sweep down and stay down along the side of the bike like HK's. I think I'm going to have to switch to get the sound I'm looking for. I've had compliments on the Speedsters, but I've had way to many leaks with them for my liking. I finally got them to seal the last time (5th time off and on) by using JB weld to cover the slots where the clamps don't cover them and let hot gas discolor my engine side cover. Now I'm probably have a hell of a time getting them off now when I go to replace them, but at least my chrome isn't getting burnt anymore.

One thing I found after lowering the rear of my bike is that these type of low mounted pipes scrape the ashpalt on sharp righ turns. Have you found that or is your bike stock height?

sjh-

My bike is stock height...the only thing I ever scrape is the floorboards...don't think I could lean it enough to get the pipes to scrape...they're low, but not that low Well, I could, but then they'd be scraping me off the pavement. Ick.

If you want tochange the sound of you HK pipes I sent Doc may writ up on making some glasspac baffles or if you want I can send you my copy in PDF format. They tone down the harsh sound and give it a more mellow rummble. love the sound of mine now.

Curt,

I'd be interested in your write-up on the glass packs. I'll PM you with my email for the PDF.

What brand of 2 into 1's do you have there? V&H? Drag Specialty?

I run the Cobra Slash-cut Drag Pipes (baffles removed) and they are LOUD. I either have to pop in a modified 2" J&P after market (a 4" piece cut in half) baffle or replace the whole system to get her to pass inspection this Sept.
