I have HD friends that say they would go to this bike in a few years to go touring. I remember when I said if I needed a windshield or a radio I might as well take the car. Uh I got those this year and still can't take the car anywhere. Even the wife was asking me the other day"just because it's raining doesn't mean we can't go to the coast", yes it does my reply. Yes,either a G.W. or a trike some day but not right now. ODB

If she rides, why would you have to ask permission? YES, buy bikes, lots of them!

After owning my Roadie a few months I(we) decided that the Roadie would be MY bike and we needed OUR bike for 2-up distance rides. After a little research and a day doing test rides, we decided on a Venture. It was an '07 and the first bike that has a seat that doesn't kill my butt after 30 miles. The most we have done is 300 miles in a day but more should be good too!

Wish I could have kept my roadstar for my bike and the venture for a 2 up bike. While the Venture is a suprisingly powerful and smooth ride I do miss my Roadstar. Maybe someday I can have 2 bikes.

I decided against the Goldwing after riding my brother inlaws. Its not as comfortable as the venture.

I was actually surprised by how well balanced the Venture was when I sat on it. If I were in the market for a touring bike, I would definately go with the Venture over the Goldwing.

That said .... I have always like the look of the fairings on the 'Aspencade' version of the goldwing (early '80s vintage) call me wierd

I wish Honda still made the Pacific Coast ... that was a cool bike.

I'll be getting one someday. Holy crap, what the heck am I thinking !!!!

LOL

We have some friends that are planning on buying his-n-hers goldwings when they retire. Wings are very nice bikes, but a bit too complicated and too heavy for me. I like the simplicity of the Roadstar, and I can actually pick it up myself if I drop it (don't ask how I know that ) no way could I pick up a goldwing!!

never say never though ...

You're not supposed to drop it; plus I think the wing has a button to pick itself up, doesn't it?

A brand new one can be had here in AZ ('09 Audio/Comfort) for $17K ('08 Comfort/Navi) for $18K. Good deal. I want to try one out. I will be in the market for a touring bike. The venture wasn't for me (plus man, it needs updating) + the venture doesn't hold its value for resale. Torn between a Gold Wing and a Ultra Classic. Probably try renting them both and see which one feels right.
