Needed Ultimate Rain Covers 3 Years ago
OK, I know it's a long shot but does anyone have a set of Ultimate rain covers they want to part with? I'm heading on a 1400 mile ride Memorial Weekend and would like to get a set before I go. I know I can order a 4pc set from Ultimate for $65 and shipping but times are tough and if someone has a used set I could get a little cheaper it would be great. Just hoping!

Thanks, Ride Safe,
speedster

You can do wonders with some plastic bags if needed. A Shopping bag will cover everything. You need a larger one for the rider seat but you just take it off slide a bag on and put the seat back on. (Kinda leave a hole for the latch) I have the Rain covers and they don't last long. I might be using the plastic myself. What you get from Ultimate fit very nice, but when you ride like me, they don't last long going on and off so many times.

They are made from a Frog Togg type material. And some elastic, you can probably make like 8 sets of covers from 1 $49 pair of frog toggs.

I'm going on a 1600 mile ride, I have the rain covers and I might just leave em home and do the bag thing to save space, I can find a plastic bag almost anywhere.

Yep, I agree with MS1700, I got the 4pc set when I ordered mine, they fit great, but you could almost use any cheap Fleet Farm Rain suit, cut to fit, hot glue in an elastic band and you ready! The back rests, just throw a bread bag over them. Who cares what they look like, you'll toss them when it gets done raining!

Hey MS1700 and Darn, Just got back to the computer after a couple days. Thanks for the advice, I was sorta thinking about doing something myself and it sounds like I should save my money and do just that. I've never seen a set of the Ultimate covers, didn't know how nice and/or durable they were. Plastic bags, an old rain suit, and elastic here I come!

Thanks again, Ride safe,

Yea you can cut black plastic to size and glue elastic to it with RV Or Shoe Glue by GOOP and there ya go! Thats what I'll do next. And 3 shower caps will cover all but the rider seat.
