I never knew there was much separation between white and black bikers. Man, I don't care if someone is turquoise-colored: LET'S RIDE!!!

Myrtle Beach can stuff it where the sun don't shine. Where were all these "concerned merchants" when this crap was being rammed through City Hall? Pffft....

I've never been to Mrtyle Beach, but I've been told by friends who've lived there that the town practicaly shuts down when the black bikers come to town for the memorial day rally. I'm sure there are those there that dislike bikers in general, but I believe there's more to it. I believe racism unfortunatly still thrives in some parts of this country. It's unfortunate that they feel the need to make a distinction between "black"/"white" bikers or "loud Harleys"/"sportbikes". It's also unfortunate that the behavior of a few tarnishes the reputation of us all. What a bunch of BS.

I live in a town that has a two week long festival every year. The football hall of fame while traffic is grid locked we adjust. I realize that life is probable uncomfortable for people who live there. I doubt that most of spring break out side of motorcycle music is any different.

To me this is just like all the idiot laws that have been passed by a few self important people. I'm sure that motorcycle will not be all they go after. They are now drunk on power and they will find a new cause. When they start raising there taxes after the economic down turn. These people will protest that also and leave.

My opinion is MB is no longer a place I feel welcome. I also believe many feel the same way.

Not a dime from me either, I always found Myrtle beach was a little on the wild side, which is fine except if you are an "old guy" like me. Not into that stuff anymore, I am more family oriented and find Ocean City NJ more up my alley.

I have a house in Ocean City MD and there is a mini bike week there--going on 10 years this year. Check out "Delmarva bike week" on google, and I have posted some videos on youtube--just search for Delmarve bike week. We had over 100,000 bikes 2 years ago in town!!! It also just happens to be on my birthday weekend every year(mid September) --lucky me!!!! Most of the year round residents are retired and complain about the noise. But we spread lots of money around town--from staying in the hotels to eating in the resturants. It helps keep the town alive and keeps our taxes down somewhat. Because mid Sept is kind of "off season". So they can say what they want, but they love our $$$$. People that can have a $5000-70,000 bike that can only be enjoyed when the weather is good--sometimes only 6 months out of the year are not all "dirtbags". Just my thoughts. Re:Myrtle Beach gets national attention 3 Years ago
I thought all the "old people/retirement communities" were in Florida!!! I've gotten to know one old local from Daytona Beach, he and his wife live in a house behind one of the bandstands in the heart of downtown Daytona. He does paid parking for bikes only in his yard, I've parked there for 5 years, this past year I asked him what does he think about all this ruckus, he laughed, told me on his limited income he and his wife look forward to bike week, he makes enough to go on a nice vacation himself every year! He only charges $5 parking, I always give him a $10!!!
Like others have said here, Screw Myrtle Beach, if they don't want me there, I'm not the rebel that's going to protest. I can protest enough by not contributing to their economy.....Think about it, if you go there and simply get pulled over by your loud pipes, your bike gets impounded, your going to pay the fine, then impound fees, don't think about craning your bike till you get outside the city limits, going to have to call or pay someone to trailer you bike.....ultimitly you would have spent alot of money strait to the man! and not have enjoyed the motel reservations and restraunts!....I'm going where I am welcomed!!!
