Good to know Musky! Being from MN and getting stuck at the same red (169 and Old Shakopee) almost every day, that's good news for me! I thought I was breaking the law every day. Kind of takes some of the thrill out of it, though.

Carry a copy of it with you. You might still get pulled over. I did.

I'm not sure what the law states here in Oregon, but after 2 cycles of missing a light change, I'm looking to move on my way. I'm gonna have to check to see what the law really says about this. I haven't been cited (caught) yet, but you never know...

See if your state has something like this - MMSC. The sites are a good resource if your state has one.

Not sure of the law here in California but I do know here in Napa we have the worst traffic engineer on the planet. Damn lights don't even turn for me in my Isuzu Rodeo let alone on the Roadie. So I sit for what I believe to be a reasonable time and then go on through on the Roadie. Lights are so badly done here no way a judge would convict me and other than one fat ass bike cop we have here (he has an attitude and a half, even the other cops hate him) most of the cops would never write you.
Our lights are so screwed up as we have a number of state highways that are also main streets here so control of lights is split between the city and CAlTrans which means no one is in charge.

I was an officer here in Ohio up until last year. I have never known a cop to write a citation to a motorcyclist for turning on red, as long as you waited for at least 2 light cycles. Just watch out for those state boys, they have no discretion built into them.

I leave for work quite early and have waited and waited. Not sure if its legal to do here in Florida but, I do it on a regular basis at one particular light only at an intersection close to home. Of course I do use "common sense" and wait for the opposing light to turn red after first waiting for it to cycle and when that lane clears off I go turning left on red so as not to get T-boned. If the LEO want to cite me I will take my chances with my explanation.

I glued one of those magnets to the underside of left floorboard. No problems.

I don't think we have such a law in AZ (wish we did). I have gone though after a reasonable amount of time. Usually I'm detected though except the light outside by my dealer (go figure). If I pull up, it doesn't detect me. The dealer is near a busy road, so I would never want to make a left there without a green light. I've put the kickstand down and gone over and pressed the crosswalk button to get it to change.
