dumb question 1 Year, 8 Months ago
Any tricks to getting a stuck seat off??? I've tried being gentle to almost manhandle and I can't get it off this time. I've also had problems in the past.

You're not pushing down on the key when you turn it are you?
Try pushing down on the nose of the seat while you turn the key.
Get a forklift. If you're careful you can get one fork under it without scratching the paint.

Once you get it off spray some WD40 in the mechanism.

Not a dumb question. Once you get used to how it works it becomes natural. My buddy bought a new one in 00, took us 10 minutes to figure it out.
If that doesn't work, borrow Muskys forklift.

Not a dumb question at all. I had to take mine to the dealer.. Who had to stick a long thin screw driver in to trip the lever. Then sprayed with WD40 works fine now. I read all the post and tried them all before I did take it. I looked like a monkey jumping up and down on my seat at first trying to get it to release.

I think everyone had a problem with their seat to start I have my at the dealer with 4 service techs standing around trying to figure it out then a guy with a R* came up turned the key and popped the seat off and walked away. Left the five of us standing there

Thanks for the help. I got her off now. Pushing the front end down when the key is turned helped. Now the trickle charger is back on, and I'm waiting for another warm day to take her out. I was going to get the Front-end loader and hook up a chain...... That way I wouldn't scratch the paint....

Glad you got it off. They're talking thunder storms. Hope so. That should clean things up.
