My last 2 tanks of gas have been Shell Regular and I've noticed about a 4MPG gain. It could be because of the weather as well, but the bike feels like it has just a touch more torque and power all around. Anyone else have similar response?

certs ALLWAYS had the filler material called redcyn.
100% beef is ALL steer, not from a female cow.

my bike responds very well to higher grades of fuel octane,
runs just fine on 87 and gets a little peppier on 94 but i have filled up a couple times with the shell *nitrogen premium grade fuel a couple of times and havent noticed any performance improvement.

EVERYTHING is and has to be/have a trade off of some measurable sort due to the current laws of physics. if it runs good, ride it till it breaks.

if you want more performance, loose 50# or change the output gearing ratio and rev limit.
(and loose the air filter!) < huge improvement!!!

FYI - I ran a spray gum remover in the carb a little while back.

Tried the Shell Nitrogen-enriched gas (high test) for a tank. Cost 40 cents more per gallon than regular and lost 3-4 MPG.

Pulled the plugs to install new Iridiums and checked out the top of the pistons with a light looking in the plug holes.

The tops of the pistons were clean as a whistle! In fact, they looked brand new.

When I had SVS problems, the tops looked caked black with carbon.

I don't know if the Shell did it or the Gum Remover in the carb, but I am impressed.

I would not run it regularly due to cost and loss of MPGs.

I will also try regular with lead substitute added and check mileage.

BTW - My scoot is running GREAT!!!

A guy Iused to work with used to drive fuel truck up here. HE claimed that the gas came from different suppliers all over. Didn't matter what brand you thought you were getting form any given dealer's pump... HE claimed that whoever had fuel in the depot, and whoever had the demand, was where the fuel came from and where it went. Shell gas might be Turbo one day, and Co-op gas might be Esso the next. All mixed up in the end. only thing kept separate was the "grades" of the gasoline.
I don't know if he is right or not, but I'd think ther might be some truth to his story....?

NOPE. But I do remember Radar mailing a whole army Jeep home, piece by piece. Each parcel contained on Jeep part, and he was going to re-assemble it when he got home from the Korean war...
I'll bet it had clean exhaust valves though with the BP gas he always used in it...
