$30,000 dollars and 300 miles don't make a biker. And having a big visa limit and a Kuryakan catalogue ain't cutting it either...
Old school you never passed a stopped biker, unless they waved you on...And how many young riders know what the biker distress symbol for road side assistance is?
I get a good laff out of the ads on KIJIJI... 2003 CRUISER,,, 5000 miles, never driven in the rain... Yada yada yada... ( A pox on them)
Bought it to ride it and other than snow and ice, I ride...

Similar to BikerBob2's, stopped one time long ago to help an old lady with a flat. She looked scared at first, but that didn't bother me either (put myself in her place).  |

Hi,
Glad to hear there are a few of us still out there. You reminded me back when I had a shovel head sportster and after that I rode a 66 Triumph for a while. All I can say is there were times in the old days when it took a shop full of guys on the side of the rode to get a bike running again.

I stopped on the road and drained about a gallon out of my bike and gave it to a stranded soul, we won't say what brand the bike was, cause, really, it doesn't matter........  |

Sad but true!!!! I was born the same year you started riding (I'm 35), but I was taught the code by watching my Dad. He never said "this is what we do as bikers" or anything like that. You do it, your kids see it and then they do it. Good or bad, I believe that's true! I've stopped to help I don't know how many bikers in my day. Siphoned gas and given it to 'em, adjusted linkage so they could get going again, driven home to grab the truck and drove the guy 70 miles back to his house with the bike in the bed. Whatever it takes. By the way - the 70 mile ride home guy's wife made us a WICKED dinner that night! Coupla beers, too... 
I guarantee you that my 6.5-month-old will be taught the same things! There ARE good youngsters out there! One of them lives in the southern part of the Twin Cites of Minneapolis/St. Paul! If I see ya, I stop. Period.

the bandana tied to the left grip is the one i read once.
i put my hands on a totally dead mini van yesterday at the market.
i pull in and park and some india like dressed lady asked me if i had cables. no but i'll have a look. broken battery mount. wiggle this & that, started right up. and what does she do, yah turns it off.
completely dead again. couple strategic jiggles, it starts.
and told her to take it to a mechanic.

I don't care what you ride. If I see a fellow rider on the side of the road, I'll stop and see if they are ok. I'll even do it if I'm driving the car. Doesn't matter.....
Its just the RIGHT thing to do.....!
