White exhaust with a water cooled engine means that you have a blown head gasket or cracked head; resulting in water getting into the combustion chamber. Since we do not have water cooled engines that can not be the problem! One of the products of combustion is water and if you have very high humidity, the engine is sucking in a lot of moisture with the air. If the temperature is just right you get condensation causing fog coming out of the exhaust.

H2O and CO2 are products of combustion

the hot exhaust air is saturated with water

if it hits a cold service or cooler less humid air..it condenses to fog....white

The vapor trails from a jet are just that...water produced by the engines condenses to form vapor when the hot exhaust hits the cooler less humid air

Oil smoke is typically blue.

My daily driver is a '93 Jaguar XJS Coupe with the 4.0 litre in-line 6... they all have poor valve guide seals, so I have a regular daily ocurrence of burning some oil upon start-up... and it's always blue.

Oh, excuse me... I just got a call from AlGore....

Well I live at a high altitude (3500 FT) and come to think of it it I believe its only at night I see it, its cool but I am not sure of the humidity though. I will check some more, Its just tough to tell usually i will only see it when I open the throttle up and then I see it in the headlights of the car behind me and it is not consistent just a cloud till the power evens out. but dont see it during day and friends dont complain when they are behind me.
