Stopped into the local NAPA yesterday to pick up some SeaFoam which I've heard so much about on here. While I was there, I figured I'd ask the guy about bike oil and if they carried it. I've been thinking about switching over to synthetic, but the cost....
So the older guy asks what weight oil I want, I said 20-50. He says "hey, let me show you something" and walks me into the back room. There sat 5 6-packs of Mobil 1 Fully synthetic V-twin 20-50. The boxes looked really old but all intact. He says another NAPA dealer had wanted to get rid of them and he'd sell them to me for $4.00 a quart.
My only regret is that I didn't ask him if he'd cut me a bigger break for taking them all, but I didn't.
I took them all. 30 quarts!!!
Only question (and I know I'll find this if I search) how many miles can you put on synthetic between changes?
My oil needs are covered for a long, long, time!!!

I just did mine,coming up on 6k (5700+/-)on mobil1 V-twin. The oil was just starting to get dark. They say you can get 2x the mileage with synthetic. You got a great deal. $9.49/qt here.

You made out just fine. My question... how many miles do you put on in a year? If under 10k, you could probably just run one change a riding season, and get some 7 years out of that!

Some might say, change it out at the end of each season, to rid the motor of all contaminates, and then run the next season on that Fall change.

Well, I put just under 10k this year, but it's been my first year with the bike, so I am guessing that I'll be a little less eager to ride in the winter, etc.
Wow seven years of changes. Looks like I hit the jackpot!

So, when you run out, what's next..Cause you know the R* will last longer than the oil.......

Really!! LOL what will the price of oil be in 7 years?? It will probably cost me as much for the eighth year as all seven years combined!

I don't doubt that.....but by then your R* will be broke in ................
