ok i found a 1990 Electra glide for 4800 needs cosmetic work, paint some new chrome etc... a new ignition switch and keys. it has an ss motor and was told its a 103 ci ss built by Kendal johnson...

power wise it didnt compare to the roadie, it was more comfortable than the roadstar

im kinda torn as to what to do the comfort is catching my attention but i think i might be able to make the roadie just as comfortable with a seat change

Someone spent some money to get the crankcase machined out, with the new jugs, pistons, and other parts, that is a pile of money to put an 88 cu in up to the 103 kit.

Buddy is trying to go from a 95 big bore kit to the 103 on his trike, but is still spending 6500.00 on the 103 conversion.

Good luck with it . Sounds like a good winter project.

I think you ought to get it and put the motor in the R* and see what kind of questions you get asked.
Make a conversation piece for sure.

if thatīs got a 103 S&S lump in it and your roadie feels like it has more power. walk away! ANY S&S engine would eat a roadie engine for breakfast and then ask for an extra couple of slices of bacon.

for the 80 cu/i evoīs, S&S built the 96 and 113 (and recently a 107 touring engine), plus others of larger capacity.

the only reference i know of for a 103 from S&S has been for shovels and pans.

kinda strange....

IMO, buy another seat.

Yeah, I'd do some seat shopping before I'd trade a soon to be 10 year old Roadie for a 20 year old pretty much anything else that needs, chrome, paint and who knows what other parts. It's not like it seems like all that good a deal either. KBB lists trade in for that year FLHS Electra Glide Sport at just $4,700, so IMHO $4,800 ain't that great, especially if it needs a good deal of TLC to get it up to snuff.

Erizo is right! If that truly was an S&S 103 it would eat your R* alive! Something is wrong here. Another thing is if Kendal Johnson built that motor I can guarantee it would be fast. Kendal is well known for his engine work. So I'm going to say pass on this bike as something is not right. It's great to have an extra bike. Should the motor need to be gone through and rebuilding of the heads you can plan on spending around $2000 and that's you doing the rebuild and your only paying for the heads to be rebuilt. I would offer the guy 3,800 and you would be getting a pretty good deal, beyond that there are other deals and better deals out there. If you pick it up for that kind of money you could buy a stock 88ci motor through harley for about $2,600 and just use everything off the motor for the new motor.
