Re:Tricky Air Pressure Gauge? 2 Years, 5 Months ago
Done a couple of hours ago my BUTT! I just finished. The kid dropped a bolt to the battery down inside and he thought it went in the front pully area. We pulled the cover off and the pully nut was LOOSE GEEEZ!! Found the bolt in the left side cover. You guys must have a lot less junk in yours than I do mine I had a hell of a time getting the pump and everything to fit. The plug for thr rear finder was in the way and all sorts of stuff. Top that all off I got it wired up and it pumps up but won't come down. What gives???????????

Curt:

Good job!

Either the solenoid isn't wired to the switch right. Or, the adjustment knob on the solenoid is turned all the way in.

Curt....glad to hear you're almost done. The solenoid controls the dumping of air. How many turn out on the valve are you on the solenoid? Mine is one turn out and it dumps fine. Too tight on the valve and it won't dump, too many turns out and it'll dump so fast that you'll get air lock going on and it won't dump. I'm no expert by any means....I think Rob explained something about that awhile back to me.

However, I'd check the wiring as it sounds like it's not even opening.

You're almost there man. Regards....greeny

I cranked the know out about 3 or 4 turns the one on the cylinder is out 3. I may have a bad connection on one of the wires. I put quick disconects on the wires so I could remove stuff whitout a hassle.

Can you hear the dump solenoid clicking when you try to dump the air?

Then you probably have a wiring issue, or a bad solenoid, or a bad switch, or are having a bad day.

Re:Tricky Air Pressure Gauge? 2 Years, 5 Months ago
Could be all of the above. I know the bad day part is for sure. I got the cylinder on then I had to put the rear finder and sub frame back on then the sissy bar and bag brackets and rear seat. THEN I could start on hooking things up. I have a feeling it is that stupid little black wire one the solenoid not making contact in the quick disconnect. Right now my back is killing me and I am beat so I will mess with it tomorrow or thursday. At least the rear finder is fixed I saw where it was rubbing the tire on the left side. That ridge where the side wall starts is worn down. Man that sucker doesn't move now. Glad I found thye loose pully to that could have been BAD.
