About 5 years ago I had a customized Sportster. I was at a bike rally and this guy came up to look at my bike. He asked me "What is it?" I told him it was a Sportster, he looked at me and said "Oh a chick bike." I asked him what he rode and he said "My wife won't let me have one." Can you believe that?!!!! I just looked at him, shook my head and laughed. I got attitude from a guy who's "Mommy" wouldn't let him have one!!! It's not the bike, it's the Richard Noggins. Priceless!

I've ridden Harleys ( the last one a 2000 Electraglide Classic) & I like 'em fine. Owned several over the years. Bought a 99 Kawasaki drifter in 1999 & thought wow! it's more powerful, smoother & certainly more up to date!(water-cooled, rubber-mounted, fuel injected, etc.) I always loved the Indian look , hence the Drifter. However, I hated the rear suspension. The passenger seat sat about 12" above fender & it just looked funky. Got the harley like i said & loved it too. Sold it in '06. Got to missing riding again & came across a great deal on a '99 Roadstar. Other than being carbuerated, ( got a little spoiled to that fuel injection!) The bike has more room than the H-D ( I'm 6'2" runs like striped ape, & is less maintenance than the H-D. Bottom line is I got tired of paying literally twice the money for a bike that is @ best only as good as my R-S, & really doesn't have as much to offer! At 58 I say to hell with Harley elitist, give me something quality & reasonably priced any day. To me a rider is a rider & the ride is what we all have in common. In all fairness, however, I have to say many Honda people are almost as bad! What's up with that!
Anyway thanks for letting me howl

Back in the day I rode a 58'Pan and hung at the local bike club, wasn't a member but grew up with most of them. One day Kenny came riding up on a 400 kawi and the guys started ribbing him. Well he stood up and said "I did two tours in Nam fighting for my country, and I have the right to ride what I want!". Ride what you like and enjoy the freedom to choose what you ride.

Imho ALL motorcycles are cool. Some are more cool than others. Look at the old Nortons, Triumps, Suzuki rotary engines, Bmw's Montana, Indians, and many other's that you've never heard of. They all have unique designs and they all have there good and bad points. I love looking at them and reading about them. I guess I just have a problem with a "Holier than thou" attitude from anyone, about anything. So ends the rant.

Love all bikes even though some are a rolling POS.
Its the riders that are the problem. Diss them all ya want! Of course a lot of them happen to ride a particular v-twin motorcycle......

Went to the chrome shop the other day to get a price on some apes and all goes well untill he tells me that all jap bikes make your neck and shoulders ache ,what ? Im thinking dosent this happen on other bikes, there were other V TWINS in the shop no explination required,Then I get the drum on up to 95 hardley dangerous's wernt very reliable, but now they are super!!!!! and so much power bla bla....and I wont understand what it means to ride a, one of them hardleys like when some one comes up and says : nice bike mister: poo bum!then comes the cables must have a big radius on jap bikes but not on those others that are there.Anyway I looked in the mirror and Im not green behind my ears.Im not sure what these people eat for breaky but I think its Bull Sh*t rant rave, Its ok If we have a happy day and another beer

the only thing that matters on the bike is color not brand. everyone knows black motorcycles are way cooler than any other color bike!

I won't dis another riders bike but have heard it from both HD and nonHD riders. I've even had non helmet wearers criticize me for wearing a helmet. You just can't be so thin skinned. One time a fellow criticized the old wolverine hiking boots that I was wearing and went on and on how his higher engineer boots gave his feet and ankles greater protection. I guess he cared more for his feet than his brain because he didn't wear a helmet but I didn't point out how ridiculous that seemed to me. I like most any motorcycle and even considered swapping for another but this RoadStar has given me such a big grin since 2004 that I fear that I would miss her too much.
