You want to hear about a ridiculous insurance rate. My Dad was just quoted $7000/yr on his Vmax. Needless to say, we won't be going with them.

Re:MOFO INSURANCE RATES (UPDATED) 3 Years, 4 Months ago
Yesterday, I called my local State Farm Insurance Agent. With a $1K deductable, a 6 month motorcycle policy is $318.76 ($53.13 a month). I can't believe the difference in the price.

Because I moved my auto insurance to Safeco, Progressive increased my motorcycle policy to over $1700. The reasoning is, I was getting a $1200 discount by having two policies with them. They're attempting to strong arm me to stay with them.

I will never use Progressive again.

Guys, thanks for all of the advice and letting me know what you all are paying. Goes to show, with a little time, patience and the internet, there's always a better deal out there.

When this thread started the light come on and I started to compare prices. I am currently with Safeco at $636/yr and I was quoted $349/yr from Progressive for the same coverage. It seems that you have to check prices every year to make sure that your getting the best deal for your money.

At 54yo w/clean record, on my '01, Progressive = 100/300/100 BI & PD w/ 50k/500ded un/under insured & pedestrian personal injury of 250k/pp w/250ded/20%copay (no comp or coll) runs $208/yr in South Jersey. Due 03/01/10

Have 25/50/25 BI & PD, 150k PIP + 10k extended six month policy on an '01 Eclipse (my stepson's old shitbox) runs $304 (or $608/yr).

Both policies thru one of my two broker brothers (they been doing it 35+ years).

Had left Liberty Mutual and Geico years ago because of rate increase problems.

I have Foremost also, they only insure the "extra's" to $3,500.When I called , they do not base this on replacement cost. Receipts only.Anyone know a company that does?
