There isn't a perfect system and unfortunately there will always be those people who take advantage of a system that is set up to help those in need. I, for one, think it is fantastic to help out the handicap - regardless of what it is. We take our health for granted and if/when I become impaired I will be very happy to have that tag hanging from the rear view. Those few extra parking spots are not going to deter us healthy people from shopping so why complain? God knows a few extra steps aren't going to hurt us. Hell I usually park far away on purpose so I can hopefully avoid a door ding. I do see the humor with the picture, but at the same time think that the person riding the scooter is probably doing the best he/she can with the transportation they can afford. At the same time they are on 2 wheels enjoying life - good for them!

It would look good with some apes though!

Around here they have pregnant mother spots next to the handicap spots.

Makes sense to me to use a scooter if you do not have good use your legs ... much cheaper that outfitting a car with hand controls.
