After I saw this post,...it got me thinking,...so last night while replacing my throttle cable, I thought.....while the tanks off and its raining...I should do some painting,......so.....I end up doing a 2 day project... 5 cans of bedliner spray from wal mart and 2 days later..I have a total diff look and killer paint job........even did the levers, handle bars and trees.....I am extremely happy with the results...the bedliner spray is awesome,...and durable...best of all it was a cheap project that fit into my budget, and I dont have to worry about scratches or dings...like today when I dropped the allen wrench on the gas tank while tightening a clamp. I am really surprised how well this stuff looks on everything....tottally different and textured......pictures tomorrow...Im dead tired extremely high and naucious from paint fumes and need sleep....post tomorrow.

Welcome to the "cool" club - or is that the "cheap" club . I just finished doing a set of bags which will be installed tomorrow. You are right about the toughness...I dropped a heavy 14MM impact socket right on the front fender and it didn't leave a mark. You will want to get one of those car dusters for wiping the dust off, but even that is better than having to wash and wax regular paint. Looking forward to the pictures.

Re:I'm looking for images of bed liner paint jobs 2 Years, 2 Months ago
my 04 is for the most part done. right now i have a Memphis shade windshield on there and the light bar i am building wont fit. i do have a batwing fairing from a 96 or older hd that i cut the bottom section off and am mocking up for it. once i get it mocked up i can set the width of the light bar and weld it up. then get another can of undercoat, spray the fairing and I'll be done. im gonna try to fab up mounts to fit the memphis shade mounts thats what is taking me long. hopefully i'll get a few pics up soon. the bike does look sharp!

Re:I'm looking for images of bed liner paint jobs 2 Years, 2 Months ago
I painted my 1972 CB750 bobber/street fighter with bedliner back around 2004, I'm planning to paint it different this summer. I painted it without primer or surface prep because I too was not sure I wanted to go that route, I decided to keep the paint, but before I could strip it and redo it HD came out with their 'Black Denim' or whatever they called it.
It pissed me off that I would have a factory looking paint job, so I said the hell with it and am just now getting to where I'm ready to rebuild the engine, modify the frame by fabing and mounting forward boards and a few other things, along with a complete change in rear fender, tail-light, etc... and I may put some 4" over tubes on it to go a little more chop and a little less bob/fighter.

This should open a quick 3 picture slideshow

This should take you to the album. I added this link in case you wanted to look a little closer, I had to knock them down from 14 Mp to get them up to photobucket in a manageable file size, but they're still large enough to zoom in on a little.

Re:I'm looking for images of bed liner paint jobs 2 Years, 2 Months ago
when i thought about going in this direction first it was the flat black but i have always felt that flat black just doesn't look finished. the undercoat looks finished. and i had originally planned on going with powder coat on most of the chrome but i like the contrast of the shinny chrome against the undercoat finish. i even put the tank badges back on. I have a hypercharger with the red center and it matches the red in the tank badges well. i wired up the hard bags to be running/turn signal witch really is sharp. i don't have a light on the license plate so i hope that wont be an issue. i put an oil cooler that i got a while back on it and its sharp its like the one ummmmm errr uhhhh CRS is kicking in and i cant remember his name on here but he has one lol its like this also a crash bar highway pegs the short Vance and Hines like the bub stubbies and i have the swing wing pegs for the passenger floorboards. i don't know if i mentioned i filled all the holes on the rear fender except for the tail light and had to drill out one new hole for the lay down license plate i put on.
