Yup, the R* came out the same year as the RS Venture. The Venture you mentioned Jade was the Venture Royale (1st Generation), made from '81 to '93. I had an '86 for a couple of years. Then the RS came out in '96 (2nd Generation) as a basic cruiser, then morphed into a Tour Deluxe, then the RS Venture model came out in '99. The Roadie and Royal Star are two fine scoots.
