If your talking about the chrome and rubber cover for the shift knob, yep just cut the old one off. You do need a very small allen wrench for the replacement. I beleave they recomend gluing the new one on also.

They say to wrap the lever with electrical tape until it just fits on and screw the allen set screw in. I was able to pull my old rubber ones off and save them.

I got frustrated trying to pull my old ones off and just cut them, then just like Curt said a couple wraps with electrical tape and the small allen set screw.

I cut mine off as well and be careful with the tiny set screw...too tight and it breaks off. I know from experience! I glued as well and never had it loosen in over a year.

I have been looking at new shiny things from kury too. The shift peg is one of many. I've seen where alot of my fellow Roadies have gone to or cut off the heel/toe shifter and went to just a standard shift peg. Was wondering what the reasoning behind this was?
