102inch--

Yup...our low-compression engines don't like "the good stuff"...it burns too slow. Use the regular ol' 86 or 87 octane stuff. It'll run better AND you'll be eliminating one of the possible culprits in SVS. Which, by the way, doesn't really exist. Just ask Yamaha. Hell, they might even answer "Road Star? What's a Road Star?"

What do you guys get for a tank? I seem to be averaging right around 125 miles and that seems really low to me...

Yes, it's a bit low.

Looking a your pic, you have some mods so the carb is probably set up a bit on the rich side.

My gas light comes on at approximately 151.6 miles (as high as 172 as low as 132). Running completely stock on a 2005 Silverado 1700.

Hope that helps.

Just completed a trip to Hollister and averaged 43 mpg at 85 mph Not bad considering the high temps up I-5 (115 F +)

I consistently get 40+. All stock '06 R* Silverado Midnight.
90% riding 8 miles to work. No long trips to compare. I'm betting 45+.
2-up I'm sure would be less. Don't know. Maybe if I buy the Russell pillion seat for my wife, I can tell you more later. Stay tuned, it might be a Goldwing you hear in my future.

My Light comes on at 152 I run out and swich to reserve at 162 and I can strech out to 175 (by this time I'm starting to sweat so I've never gone beyond).

I've got a Forcewinder air cleaner and custom straight pipes.
