I agree with all here that this is the best group on the web. I also agree that the blue language
is not needed. Yea we are all adults but we also set the tone for younger riders who drop in to the site.
I know we didn't ask for the job but we got it anyway. Apparently the media drops in on occasion also as the site
has been mentioned in Motorcyclist magazine. I don't think BB was singling out anyone in particular. Bikers get a bad rap as it is, I think that was the gist of BB's post.
Lets continue to set the example as the best site on the web.

Dave , you have been a good contributor on the Clinic for a long time. Don't take the locked thread personally. I haven't personally read the locked thread , but keeping the peace (or rules in this case) has to start somewhere , even if you have fallen short on doing it in the past.

Some time ago , we decided that you can't kill every thread with some sort of cursing in it. So it was agreed that if it was on free TV (and I'm afraid that I am the only guy left on the earth not buying his television reception from someone) , it could slide here. Not basic cable , but good old free TV.

I assure everyone here that the S-word ain't used on free tv , and I dread the day it becomes OK. We know the other harse word is out of bounds , and we appreciate everyones cooperation with this.

Do we expect eveyone to speak like Mother Teresa , no. But holding off on the stronger profanity is appreciated by more than just the moderators. That , we can assure you.

Everyones effort in this regard keeps the Clinic a better enviroment , and we thank everyone for respecting that. BB

Just out of curiosity how many members sit around with their kids reading this forum. When I was too young to be exposed to curse words reading this forum would have been a form of punishment b/c it would have been BORING! No offense to the forum, but just how many kids really care about what the best oil is to use in daddy's or grampa's motorcycle. I would have been begging dad to get off the computer to take me for a ride. I think we are all adults here and some may be more insulted by foul language, but I can't remember a thread (and I try to read all of them) that was over the top. Unlike most forums where there is a pissing match everyday between members. I think the fact that most of the members here are older (like our resident comedian Jona) is the reason that this place stays as civil as it does. This is just my opinion, but this is a very tame forum and an occassional curse word is not going to take away from its integrity. As a matter of fact, threads like the recent American flag one deserve a few choice words to express our anger towards the bleeding heart idiots that walk among us everyday!

True dat! You should go to some of the cigar boards I used to frequent. Not did all of them have a NSFW section, skipping that just reduced the level of porn you were exposed to when visiting.

I try to respect everyone here and will continue to do so in the future. And as far as TV goes you must not ever watch "The Family Guy"or "Bemis and Buthead" If your not offended by adult type content in a cartoon you will laugh your butt off. And it is on reg TV.
As far as this thread I think it has served all of its usfull purpose. Now lets get back to tuning our forks and putting progressive springs in our carbs.

Good thing I haven't been around a lot since this is now in effect or proposed or whatever it is.

I try not to curse, but when life goes the way it is lately, I'm one of the women who will make you blush. Gotta love the Navy days.
