Hmmmm, wonder what I'll find next??? 1 Year, 4 Months ago
The more I dig into my bike, the more I find. Started looking into what is involved with doing "The Flip" to lower the rear of my bike and I find this:

Looks like it's been done before, but changed back. I wonder why? Seems like every time I go to do something on this thing somebody has already done it! Like when I wanted to change my air cleaner from stock and re-jet, I found the carb had already been worked on. It's like the guy that owned it before me did all kinds of stuff to it, then changed it all back! He never said a word about things that had been done to it, so I wonder what will show up next? Plus I wonder why he changed things back? Hmmmm...

That's the "dogbone" and it looks like it was flipped (back) by the looks of some grinding. Don't cha love surprises?

Look on the bright side now you just have to flip it back and can save on the grinding.

Yeah, I'm glad I don't have to do any grinding, just curious why he did it, then changed back to stock location! Just seems weird to me Also has me wondering what else he did???

He could have had other pipes on at the time and not the stock pies? maybe they were hitting in the turns. That was my issue, even with the 1k spring, the flip dropped it too much for the pipes I had, HK 2.75 straights, I had drag marks from the tip all the way to the floor boards on the lower pipe, did not feel safe. so got a seat that lowered me a bit more than an inch.

True, I just wish he had told me a bit more about the bike when I bought it. I was new to the Roady, so I didn't know what to ask him. Good thing I have this place to answer all my questions!

Could be he bottomed out too much, pipes like Erbman said or maybe he just decided that when he sold it to return it all to stock and take off after market stuff to sell.

Yep, that's probably what happened. Can't wait to see what else I dig up!
