Is it the jetting that is caused the decrease in fuel economy or is it the open pipes. BTW Bowhunter, what are those pipes you have.. they look great.

Actually , for me, the mods I've done (jetting, airbox, manifold, pipes) has helped increase my MPG's, and I'm not light wristed (but I'm not Ricky racer , either).BB

If you rejet accurately then your mileage should not change or it will increase.

Most folks seem to re-jet on the rich side which decreases mileage. They also like to pump that throttle to listen to the new pipes.

I managed to back off the pump'n and 40 mpg is the best I can get, but I haven't just ran the bike on the hiway thru a full tank with out doing a little city driving. So, Doc..... What are you getting out of that good looking machine of yours?

I'm in the 40 - 45 mpg range but I know I'm rich in the idle circuit.

I am averaging 44mpg, with the previous settings, and just turned the pms in another 1/4 turn, no problems so far and no popping on decel..and it needs the enrichener now for cold engine start... so I know I was heavy on the low end just blipped the throttle and it would start and away I went. With all the SVS want it as lean as it will run well.
I am expecting the other 2 DJ jets 185 and 180 to fill in the gap from the kit, so I can try going leaner on the main, but have not had any problems yet and it runs better than stock by far.

The Pipes are Vance and Hines Powershots, took about 2 hours to put on including putting the tools away.
