2001 Paint Color 1 Year, 1 Month ago
Hello,

I have a 2001 Road Star and it has a two tone paint job. When I first got the bike I thought I read a review of a 2001 road Star and it said the color scheme of my bike was called maroon and root beer. This is not my bike but it is the same color as mine

Who ever posted the add also used called the color scheme maroon and root beer/

This is why I need assistance.

My bike was backed into the other day and I need to replace the front fender. It seems Yamaha only sells the fenders pre painted. When I look online at the Yamaha part catalog for a 2001 RoadStar I do not see my color scheme listed for the front fender. Can anyone out there tell me what the correct color codes are for my bike and what the part number is for the front fender that matches my color scheme.

Thanks for your assistance,
Greg

And here is a link to the actual fender
http://www.powerpartsplus.com/pages/oemparts?aribrand=YAM#/Yamaha/ROAD_STAR_SILVERADO_-_XV1600ATN_-_2001/FENDER

Part # 4WM-Y2150-C0-7X is the actual fender in miyabi maroon and part # 5JA-21570-00-00 is the graphics for the front fender

The border brown color on that website looks like the goldish color of the pin strip that separates the maroon color from what I am calling root beer. I did not see a two tone fender in the parts catalog called Miyabi maroon and border brown.

It looks like you posted a couple of post while I was replying back. I am at work so it took me a few minutes to type my message. From what you posted the Miyabi maroon color is a two tone color scheme?

Thanks for your help, this is driving me nuts. I would hate to order in the fender just to find it still need a second color painted on it. I took my bike to the local shop they wanted me to leave the bike for 3 to 4 days just to get a quote. I think there needs to be another repair shop in my area.

The miyabi maroon and border brown is the two color scheme. As for the fender, I would confirm it before placing an order, however, since inquiring minds want to know, I called powerpartsplus and they stated the fender is a two tone paint scheme, what is confusing though is the separate graphics set. As for 3-4 days for a quote, that seems a bit long imho.

Hmmmmm.......I gots the 2001 Silverado same paint ! Told it's a Kandy Color by the local paint stores and they can photo it to match it. I'm painting a HD fairing as we speak and was told a Qt of the Kandy Color "Wild Cherry" (don't remember exact color #), base plus clear would run $180 plus the cost of prep and painting the fairing ! I said OK, I don't have a $30k machine but I want it to be as close as possible BUT I don't want to break the bank (Mama) either. Painter said he could match it as close as possible with other paint(said pretty close) and total cost would be $175. I said go for it ! So we'll see.

Yes it did, See "Pics of My Ride/Fairing is on". Fender was photo'd by paint supply store to match the closest metalflake possible w/o going with the original color that I've been told is Kandy Color which is expensive, yet two colors ! Seems nobody has the motorcycle colors (at least here) but they can photo match it to make it for you if you want. Me, for the fairing, the matching of a metalflake was good enough
