Re:Gas 1 Year, 4 Months ago
My Roadie gets between 42 - 46 mpg at constant highway. Usually I am getting in the 44 range, but depending on riding conditions and load it can go up or down. I have on 2 occaisions ridden until the warning light comes on and in both cases I was right around 195 miles. When the light comes on I am .3 gallons away from reserve and have a total of 1.2 gallons of gas. Total range is easily over 230 with fuel to spare. I don't generally like to run into reserve cause you do not always know exactly where that next station is and these babies are too heavy to push.
I feel for the guys getting less than 100 miles before the light goes on, as that is only about 25 miles per gallon
My set up is Cobra Slashdowns, BAK, AIS removed, 170 main, 4th groove, PMS2.5 turns, at sea level. She runs great, and the plugs are clean
Jet em boys as you are leaving a lot of money on the table and that much carbon has to go somewhere, generally the valves

Hi Guys! I'm still in Colorado doing my ride the rockies solo trip. I'm in Greeley now with relatives, and will head back down the Eastern slope tomorrow to Canon City before heading out onto the plains for the ride back to Kansas. Have about 500 miles left before I am home, but here are my records so far:

'07 Roadstar Silverado with stage one muffler drillout, speedstar comp. air cleaner, AIS removed and full windshield with wings. I am pulling a trailer that weighs a little under 230 lbs, and riding with my 29 lb dog behind me.
Total Miles to Date: 1444.5 miles
Actual MPG to Date: 44.035 mpg
Average Fuel Cost: $3.11 per gal
Cost Per Mile: 7 cents per mile

I have crossed the continental divide 5 times, have gone over 7 passes above 10,000 ft and 3 passes over 8,000 ft. Have had no problem running speed limits or over if traffic is running faster. At 11,000 feet motor did some coughing and gasping like it was running too lean, but still pulled hard whenever I cranked the throttle. Very happy with the way the bike is running.

One thing I have learned on this trip; When you're scraping floorboards on a 45 mph outside curve with a 3,000 ft dropoff and no guardrails, your cheeks get a little tight!

Didn't mean to hijack this thread, just wanted to get my mpg info posted here and I'll write more after I get home and download some pictures. It's been a great ride!

The wife and I went on a ride with a group of others on the 4th of Aug. From Little Rock to Bull SHoals; lots of twisties , anyway I eeked out 53.3 MPG on the first tank (which I figured was a fluke!) but low and behold 53.1 on the second tank!!! Must have done something right. The only difference was before the ride I drained the water out of my reserve tank. (It had been setting up for the year I was overseas).
Hope to keep up the mileage. Wish me luck!!
