Motorcycle Jack 1 Year ago
It's really early in the a.m. and nothing to do (guess I could sleep) so i ordered a floor jack from Harbor Freight (1500 lb yellow one). I guess now I will have to invest in a piece of 1" plywood to use between the jack and the ground. How fast are they (harbor freight) with shipping? Where do they ship from?

I don't understand the 1" plywood under the stand.
I've got the same bike jack and it's not too bad of a jack. It is a little more rigid when it is resting on the safety catch. I still don't get too crazy with the wrenching. A good jack for the money.

I've got that same jack, and it works fine for my R*. There's a 'sweet spot' where the pads fit that will allow you to jack it up and do oil changes and reach both plugs at once. Just get in the habit of ALWAYS checking that the kickstand is down when you put it up on the jack. Mine drops the bike rather quickly (that's why the PO didn't like it and sold it to me for 30 bucks) and if you don't have the kickstand down, you will drop the bike over on it's side. Promise. I use mine out in the gravel driveway for washing and detailing and I don't use plywood under it. Haven't really worried about it- it's solid. It's a real space-saver in my one car garage. I can get the bike tucked right up along the wall and fit my car in too.

There are 2 speeds to lower the bike with this jack if you press the release lever all the way down it will lower slowly. If you only press the release to the first notch it will drop like a rock.

Harbor Freight has a warehouse and store down in the Dothan area. When I ordered mine it arrived with in a couple of days, 3 at most but I guess it would also depend on stock down there.

Take a look at the Big Red Torin lift. I got mine on ebay and it's a well built jack.

Re:Motorcycle Jack 1 Year ago
Ive had that Jack for over 6 years.. bought my bike -needin a tire ITS AWESOME I just changed tires and put in my PROGRESSIVE Spring by myself with that jack ON GRASS under my carport.. I always tie the bike to something when I jack it up so I do it in the carport and tie it to a rail with a rubbercoated cable lock,, Im tellin you iI had MY HEAD under the bike last nite in the dark takin the spring out and had my head under it today when the front of the shock needed persuading to go back into the frame.. it HELPS that I cut my fender this spring.. didnt have to jack it as high.. ! ! me and the wife backed into my kids ATV in the driveway" tweaked it .. ""Ive been under construction for the last couple years"" its been crowded around here.. I love every tool Ive bought from HF they are cheap so they pay - for - themselves...

this is actually the first time Ive taken the caliper off to change rear - tires .. ... IN 5 TIRES ! .. yep its easier ..
