Glad to hear he is ok. I'm going to Tail of the Dragon in a couple weeks. Any suggestion on taming the Dragon?

Sorry to here about it man, prayers are with him for a quick recovery.

The Dragon is loaded with hair pins and switch backs you can't see around, it's also filled with pull offs. When I am pinned behind some Looky-Lou I pull over and let them go on their merry way, give 'em time to gain some distance then get back to enjoying my ride. Deals gap is loaded with fun rides and beautiful sites, there's no need to rush, let's not add to the tree!

Also, be sure to find Wayah Rd. It's my personal favorite, Dragon's over rated. The area's great not just one road

after riding the dragon w/ Fireman last year, I think the best way to describe it is, "it's like full dresser motocross" it's tight, it's busy, & it comes at ya fast. I rode it & I'm in no hurry to ride it again ( unless I had a Ducati Hyper Motard 1100 )

^^^+1 What he said^^^ Just don't get crazy, and try to prove you're some kind of bad motorcycle rider. Have fun, pull over and let the guys on sportsbikes by. Watch for semi's coming around the hairpins. We had one, and it was unnerving, to say the least.

Pass along a speedy recovery to him from all of us. I rode the Dragon last year. Scary part was having all the sport bikes fly around you. I enjoy riding and seeing the sights, not trying to get from point A to B the fastest. Good luck to him!

Any time he hears of a wreck at the dragon, he hunts/collects parts from said wreck & hangs them in a tree for the world to see. I believe he was on his 3rd tree when Fireman & I were there. Local legend has it, it quite an honor to have your remains hung there
