tire inflater 2 Years, 10 Months ago
Somewhere a while back I saw a 12 volt tire inflater on a website. Now that I need one I can't remember where it was. Does anyone know where I might find one? Thanks, Papajim.

I took a cheap car tire inflator and cut the plastic housing off of it... about the size of the palm of your hand, wires already hooked up, has an on/off switch... some of them have a fan on them you need to cut off, but the cheapest ones don't... I cut off the cigarette lighter plug, shortened the 12 foot wire and spliced on a plug that fits the one I have on my battery for my trickle charger (upgrade the fuse since it's only 1 amp)... works great cost me only 12 bucks (k-mart) I've been meaning to take some pictures and post them here but I have been to lazy to get the camera out... I might warn you though if you go this route, never use it around open gasoline.. there is open sparks visible when you turn it on... and may ignite gasoline... ~Guido

Excellent tip. Remembered I had a 12 volt roadside kit in my truck. Took it out of it's plastic cocoon, taped it strategically together and I got me a small compressor. Added a small tire patch kit to the hose also. Thanks for the idea.

I use a Co2 kit that fits neatly under my seat. Saved mine and others butts a few times.BB
