New Seat 5 Years, 4 Months ago
okay,
I need some help in deciding what kind of seat to buy, either a Corbin dual touring seat, or an Ultimate seat. Both will have a drivers backrest. I am 6'1 and about 250 lbs. I am probably not going with the Mustang as ya'll say that it moves you forward too much, especially for my height. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

"All of our Yamaha seats will sit you at the same height and the same position to the handlebars as your stock seat."

The above is a claim from Ultimate

They are made in Canada so they should be nice .. however if you wnat a LOWER seating position than stock.. about 1-2" then...Corbin is the answer

I am 5 10 and 30" inseam and I can firmly place my feet flat on the ground with the Corbin and that is one big reason I chose it for me

Post edited by: Pop Rivet, at: 2007/01/10 18:00

Is that true of the Yamaha solo seat made by Corbin as well or is there a difference in the seats directly from Corbin?

not that I went with the ultra comfy model of seat you guys are describing. I got a seat from Dragger Seats and had it customed stitched with a "Georgia" G on the uprise in the rear of the seat. It definitely looks kick-ass, but you have to sit a certain way for it to be comfortable. The seat definitely dictates how you sit which causes problems with the footboards which leads to other mods but the seat is so sweet I don't care and have added some foot pegs on my boards and life is good. Check out dragger seats for a different seat.

Hey clifdog

The Yamaha CUSTOM solo seats are the same and both made by Corbin
The Yamaha Comfort cruise solo is not made by Corbin
The Yamaha dual has the Star stitched back of driver part
whereas the Corbin has a fan... both made by Corbin

Post edited by: Pop Rivet, at: 2007/01/12 02:18

how about the yamaha comfort cruise stilleto seat? How is the comfort level on that type of seat for a good long haul? I really like the look of that seat.
