Funny you should mention it. Yesterday while trying to make my way out of wine country, there was a bumper to bumper back up about 5 miles long. Fortunately, lane splitting is legal here in Calif and people tend to be accommodating if you're not a jackass about it.

So here I am parting the Red Seas like Moses, when about 10 bikes come up from behind in my wake. They were a bunch of crotch rockets which tend to be a little more aggressive when it comes to lane splitting. So I gave way and much to my surprise, they were *all* a bunch of girls, in full leathers, zipping in between the cars.

Personally, there's something fine about a woman who rides ...but in this case, I don't think they liked boys... However, they were all gracious and gave a wave as they passed.

I don't pass anyone. I'm never in a hurry and I like to look at the bike in front of me.

I don't know where I'm going, and when I get there I'm not sure I'll know it, but when I'm done I hope I can say I've been somewhere.

Whenever I'm riding and I see a bunch of Crochrockets coming up behind me I slow, pull to the right by the fog line and wave them by. I really don't want one of those guys pulling an 80mph wheelie up my back.

Sorta had that happen in Fl. a few years ago.
I was riding through the Ocala National Forest when a group of around 6 rockets came up behind me. The first 5 wheelied up and passed me. The last one didn't. He just shook his head and gave me a wave as he went by.

Sometimes I pass other riders and sometimes I don't. It really depends on their speed and more importantly my mood. Most days I just stay behind them. But then when I'm in a group ride I always pull up the rear so I'm used to riding behind someone.

Good to hear I didn’t miss something. I don’t care if someone passes me and I have passed many but was wondering if I should watch the mirror closer for a chase from a proud douche bag full of ignorant beliefs.
I Passed a couple of HD’s on the interstate a while back in a 40 mph head wind doing 80. Those boys looked like they couldn’t get past 70 without running on the red line in 4th gear. I fell in behind for a couple of miles but as it turned out I lack the patience to follow for very long when I possess the ponies to go faster and I’m on the last hundred miles of a 400 mile trip. Sometime I don’t understand my own thinking. I can’t wait to get away but I’m always in a hurry to get home.

Don't know about any "code" but I respect others on the road when I ride. Don't pass unless someone is really slow in front and I give them their room as I do, if someone is coming up behind I give them their room to pass and wave as they go by. When it comes to our 1%ers, if I run across them I stay outa their way and give them their room when they blow by me. If they feel all powerful and owners of the roads when they ride so be it, I don't have anything to prove to them or anyone else as to what my machine can do. Just call it common sense, age and experience
