A couple years ago I passed a bike in my car. (some kind of cruiser, not sure if it was HD, R*, etc) They guy was going EXACTLY 55 on a two lane road. I like to go about 60 so I passed giving him plenty of room. As I got next to him, he pointed to his speedo and shrugged his shoulders like he was saying "I'm going the speed limit, how could you possibly think of passsing, don't you know that's illegal?" At least that's how it looked. Like he sets the limit and how dare anyone pass him!

.

i told a guy once, it is illegal to prevent someone from driving illegally, as long as it was NOT a felonious act. he ofcourse looked puzzled.

but on a lighter note, IF it were a no passing zone, and there were a dozen riders taking up the single lane, then no i would wait till it was atleast safe to do so.

rarely do i ever even SEE anyone patched except at gatherings and i live between boston and providence.
we have both outlaws AND hells angels and alot of 'sister' clubs.

Around my neck of the woods people pass or not, depending on how fast you are going and how fast they are going. I don't think anybody gives it a thought one way or the other. They just wave or not and roll on.

Mostly everybody goes faster than I do.

Arrogance doesn't like 2nd place.......however...on a lighter side....how many of ya like when you come to a stoplight and the cagers won't pull up next to ya since your a biker "menice".... Hey, just roll back and great with a gaze.... Oh, don't forget to grin...

Yeah I laugh to myself when that happens to me...Yeah I'm 6'4, ride w/ dark sunglasses on & ride a gangstered out roadie, look a little like a thug....but definitely not a "menace"...have two little girls @ home, a mortgage & make a pretty decent living... I always wave to the little kids in the cars & the parent look kinda freaked out!

That is funny...I get the same stuff.. not as tall lol. 6ft 235, shaved head, goatee and fully tatted. 4 kids, 4 grandkids blah blah blah...

Funny you should mention it. Yesterday while trying to make my way out of wine country, there was a bumper to bumper back up about 5 miles long. Fortunately, lane splitting is legal here in Calif and people tend to be accommodating if you're not a jackass about it.

I hate line splitting. Last time I was out in CA I had my first experience with line splitting. Next time someone tried to buzz by, I opened my door to empty the ash tray
